Thanks to surging demand from online grocery platforms and pharmaceutical cold chain occupiers, demands of cold storage witnessed large growth in China. Leasing transaction of cold storage tracked by CBRE doubled in 2020 compared to 2019. CBRE expect that cold storage investment will continue to rise in the next 3-5 years. The 2021 CBRE investors intention survey showed that 38% of respondents named cold storage as their preferred alternative sector, a substantial increase on the 20% in last year’s survey. Domestic investors as well as oversea investors have increased their investment in cold storage.
The “China Cold Storage Investment Guidelines” intends to propose the investment opportunities, investment strategies and ideal cities for investment in cold storage for investors, cold storage service providers, and occupiers, to help all the participants understand and seize the opportunities in cold storage investment.
